Dr Donald Hudson holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from Sydney University, and a Master of Philosophy in Koala Disease and Epidemiology from Newcastle University.


Previously Dr Hudson was an owner and director of Noah’s Ark Veterinary Services, and Superintendent of Nelson Bay Veterinary Clinic from 2000 to 2021, working in large and small animal, as well as wildlife roles.


Dr Donald has 25 years of experience in the treatment and husbandry of Koalas as a practising small animal and wildlife Veterinarian in the Port Stephens area. He has treated and released over five hundred koalas in that period. He was the Superintendent of the Port Stephens Koala Hospital as well as the principal treating veterinarian and was consulted on its development construction and funding and is currently working as a wildlife consultant for the Koala Hospital as well as working as the Veterinarian for Oakvale Wildlife Park, and a locum veterinarian in the Newcastle and Port Stephens Region.
